情景对话：

MASK: 哥们，你怎么看起来心烦意乱啊？怎么了？

MASK: Hey, Buddy. You seem so upset. What’s wrong?

EDMOND: 哎，别提了。昨天，我负责的生产区域发生了一起员工手部被设备的安全门夹伤事故，虽然员工没什么大碍，但是安全问题确实让我防不胜防。你知道，感觉今年的运气特别背，从春节过后，算上昨天的这起事故，在我负责的产线已经发生了4起损失工作日事件。

EDMOND: Don't mention that. An operator in my responsible production area got his hand caught by a safety door. Fortunately, he didn’t get hurt seriously. Still, one thing that I can never insure against is safety problems. Due to bad luck, if I add the case happed yesterday in, there have happened 4 Lost Workday Cases after the Spring Festival. What a bad luck!

MASK: 你平时都是怎么让你手下的员工关注安全的呢？

MASK: How do you ensure your guys to focus on safety usually?

EDMOND: 你知道，我很关注这一块的。每个月，我会给下属的班组长提供安全意识方面的..；每周，也会汇总生产线安全的隐患，让相关的支持部门或者供应商来帮助整改；还有，你知道，每天我也会巡检，一发现不安全行为，立即纠正。感觉做的也不少，可是这效果确实不尽人意。

EDMOND: I’ve paid much more attention to it. As you may know, I would train operators in  safety awareness every week; we would find out and summarize the hazard that exist in my responsible production lines, and push the support teams or suppliers to take corrective actions; In addition, I would inspect the lines, once I find any unsafe behaviors, I would take countermeasures immediately. I felt that I’ve done too much, but the actual effect was unsatisfactory.

MASK: 看起来，你确实做了不少事情。如你刚刚所提的，对员工的..确实很重要，你要不厌其烦的讲安全，怎么讲？不是讲口号，不是讲“安全第一”，不是讲“安全是第一生产力”。你得让员工清楚的知道他所在的工作区域所存在的各种安全隐患，比如，运动的机械部件（传输带、传动轴）存在夹手、夹衣服、头发等隐患，而不是只灌输一些概念性的东西。这样，员工在日常中就会很好的识别并能主动地规避这些隐患。

MASK: It seemed that you’ve done so much in safety management. As you mentioned just now, safety training is really important, and you should tell the importance of safety repeatly.Then, how do you say it? Actually, you are not talking about a slogan, or "safety first", or "safety is the first productive force”, and the like. You need to make it crystal clear to the employees that there are various hazards in the area where they work. For example, there are hazards in moving mechanical parts (conveyor belts, transmission shafts) may pinch your hands, catch your clothes and hair, etc., rather than just tell them about some theoretical knowledge. Only in this way, employees would be able to identify these hazards and avoid them with initiative in their daily work.

EDMOND: 对于安全隐患的排查与处理，你有什么建议？

EDMOND: Any suggestions on hazards eliminating and dealing?

MASK: 你在前面提到了安全隐患的排查与处理，我觉得，还可以从机械防护的角度去做一些事情，比如，把单手操作调整为双手操作，增加光栅，将人工操作改成机械手，等等。另外，，硬件方面也可以做起来，比如，增加一些安全提示板。虽然，这听起来很简单，但是对安全却是很重要的。

MASK: You‘ve mentioned about hazards eliminating and dealing earlier. For my money, we can also do something in mechanical protection, such as adjust one-hand operation style to two-handed operation style, introduce more grating sensors, and change manual operation to manipulator, and so on. Besides that, we can also take some steps in hardware, such as put some safety tips board. Although, this may sounds pretty simple, still, it's critical to safety management.

EDMOND: 谢谢。坦白说，不少时间，确实在实际工作中会推行一些口号性的东西，比如在开早会时，要求班组长与操作员首先喊“安全第一”。在会上，“安全”被喊成了“第一位”，而在工作中，安全可能就被抛到脑后了。

EDMOND: Thank you so much. Frankly speaking, we do implemented some slogans in practice, such as ask the team leaders and operators to shout the slogan- "safety first" together when they participate in morning meetings. Unfortunately, "safety" is called as the "first priority" in their meetings, while in their working time, they would leave it all behind.

MASK:理解。其实，生产线的安全工作要做好，需要重点做好两件事情-第一是做好安全..，第二是要做好机器的机械防护。这两点做做好，比每天整那些漂亮的口号，与传播一些甚至连专家自己都没有搞清楚的纯理论的概念，都要强上很多。

MASK: I can understand your problem. In fact, in order to do a good job in the safety in production lines, we need to focus on two things: First, we need to do a better job in safety trainings; and second, we need to work hard in mechanical protection. It is much better to do these two things well than to shout those beautiful slogans every day, and spread some theoretical knowledge that even experts themselves haven’t understood yet.

EDMOND: 谢谢你，马斯克。
